Excerpt: Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,
And can’t tell where to find them;
Leave them alone, and they’ll come home,
And bring their tails behind them.
Little Bo-Peep fell fast asleep,
And dreamt she heard them bleating;
But when she awoke, she found it a joke,
For they were still a-fleeting.
Then up she took her little crook,
Determined for to find them;
She found them indeed, but it made her heart bleed,
For they’d left all their tails behind ’em.
A sweet book of nursery rhymes including old familiars such as Little Bo Peep, Wee Willie Winkie, Ring O’ Roses and some that were not so familiar-There Was a Little Man, Good King Arthur, Cock-A-Doodle-Doo. As I read them, I even discovered verses I never knew existed. It was a delight to read and bring back memories of when my mother used to read and sing some of these rhymes to me.
I recommend this book for ages 3-6 or anyone who would like to rediscover their youth.
