Book Description: Children learn about the White house and the work of the president through the adventures of Woodrow G. Washingtail, president of the United Mice of America, and his family.
Mary’s Review: What a colorful and educational book. Woodrow takes you on a fun tour of the White House and educates you in a fun rhyming story about the President, Congress, the House, the different rooms in the White House. The Oval Office the President’s office. There is also a fun game to play as you read each page.

This book has been well done and I recommend it for ages 4 and up.

Book Description: Tommy was born blind and deaf, and left to be disposed of in an animal shelter drop box. This true story, told from the perspective of the dog and the rescuer is filled with unexpected hope and joy. In this charming children’s book with its magnificent illustrations, Tommy teaches us all how to embrace life and not its restrictions; to savor its possibilities. Ultimately, Tommy refuses to be defined by what he cannot do and reminds us that all of us were created with purpose and worth.

Mary’s Review: Tommy is a specially bred Doberman. He was bred for his beautiful white coat, but these beautiful dogs can often be born with difficulties as well. Tommy was born deaf and blind, but with spirit. He did not let his blindness and deafness get in the way of doing or getting whatever he wanted. Tommy’s story is one that makes us so grateful for what we have and truly sets the example of faith, hope and love and a sense of worth in us all.

I recommend this book for all ages.

About The Author: Vicky Kaseorg is an artist, writer, and homeschool teacher for the past 20 years. Two of her children have graduated, and one is still homeschooled. Vicky, her husband, daughter, two dogs, and one parakeet reside in North Carolina. When not writing, drawing, or teaching, Vicky is volunteering with animals, or kayaking, or skiing, or bicycling, and looking for God in the tiny details of the world around her. She writes a daily blog at vickykaseorg.blogspot.com . She hopes and prays that her books about rescue dogs will prompt people to donate to hollowcreekfarm.org
