REVIEW

My 11 year old daughter ate this book right up! She said she was drawn in by the creativity of hte projects. She is so excited to make the wallet, the backpack and clutch in the advanced section. We are off to buy our tape so she can practice, since all of her favorites are in the “advanced” section. With colorful photographs and clear step by step instructions, this is a winner!

CRITICAL PRAISE FOR STICKY FINGERS

“Clear directions for nifty-looking duct-tape crafts abound in this guide, featuring items that can be made for school and home, to wear and to carry tablets, phones and even lunch. . . . Chock full of appealing ideas, with a thorough table of contents, index, and a colorful, illustrated layout, to boot.” – Kirkus Reviews

“It looks like the duct tape craze is here to stay, and Maletsky proves that here. She provides easy-to-follow directions to help make colorful accessories and fabulous fashion statements, from wallets and handbags to headbands and bow ties. . . .An enjoyable crafting title.” – School Library Journal

“From wallets to messenger bags, belts to smartphone cases, Maletsky shares instructions for dozens of crafts created from duct tape in a variety of colors and patterns (“duct-tape gray” is nowhere to be seen in the color photos that appear throughout). After covering tape types and sources, tools needed, and basic “fabric”-making techniques, Maletsky takes readers through each project, step by step, noting the skill level and time needed. Quirky ideas like a purse designed to look like a slice of watermelon rub shoulders with practical carry-alls and organizers—Maletsky even has projects that use the cardboard tube after the tape has run out.” – Publishers Weekly

CRITICAL PRAISE for THE GREEN TEEN COOKBOOK

“The Green Teen Cookbook is a profusely illustrated, 144 page compendium comprised of ‘user friendly’ recipes created by teenagers for the use of teenagers in their family kitchens. Each featured recipe includes the number of servings it would make, along with preparation time, ingredients, and instructions. One very special touch is that the recipes specifically contributed by teens has their photo at the top of their particular recipe page. The Green Teen Cookbook is very highly recommended for personal, family, and community library cookbook collections, as well as a high school cooking class curriculum supplement.” – Midwest Book Review

“Eye-catching photos and mouthwatering recipes fill the pages of The Green Teen Cookbook. Editors Laurane Marchive and Pam McElroy educate without talking down as they introduce inventive ideas for the kitchen and discuss global and environmental awareness, as well as healthy lifestyle choices regarding food, its consumption, production, and purchase. . . The Green Teen  Cookbook should accompany older teens in college, first apartments, or any newly independent living situations. Parents will appreciate the emphasis on global awareness and healthy foods—most recipes include a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs, all suitable for growing at home. Truly, anyone interested in incorporating fresher ingredients into a more mindful diet without sacrificing taste, creativity, and quality will enjoy The Green Teen Cookbook.” – ForeWord Reviews

“This by teens for teens cookbook focuses on specific ways teens can live a healthy, environmentally conscious life without sacrificing the food they love. . . Cleanly laid out with photos of the teen contributors and the dishes themselves, this introduction to eating is informative without being preachy.”  – Kirkus Reviews
