Fans of Kate DiCamillo's Flora & Ulysses and Katherine Applegate's Crenshaw will fall in love with this charming adventure story about a girl learning to accept her new life, her quirky detective neighbor, and their epic search for Bigfoot.

Lemonade Liberty Witt's mama always told her: When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But Lem can't possibly make lemonade out of her new life in Willow Creek, California--the Bigfoot Capital of the World--where she's forced to live with a grandfather she's never met after her mother passes away.
Then she meets eleven-year-old Tobin Sky, the CEO of Bigfoot Detectives Inc., who is the sole Bigfoot investigator for their small town. After he invites Lem to be his assistant for the summer, they set out on an epic adventure to capture a shot of the elusive beast on film. But along the way, Lem and Tobin end up discovering more than they ever could have imagined. And Lem realizes that maybe she can make lemonade out of her new life after all.
"I love books about feisty girls and nerdy boys. Melissa Savage's astoundingly good debut novel is packed with humor, mystery, friendship, family secrets, and even Bigfoot! I think you'll love it, too."
--Karen Cushman, Newbery Medalist for The Midwife's Apprentice

Jake can barely play an instrument, not even a kazoo. And his art? It’s better suited for Pictionary than Picasso. Which is a real problem because Jake just faked his way into the Music and Art Academy for the gifted and talented (and Jake is pretty sure he is neither). More jokester than composer, Jake will have to think of something quick before the last laugh is on him.

Perfect for fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate, Jake the Fake is sure to bring the laughs with his hilarious high jinks that will leave readers eager for the next installments in the series. Featuring more than 160 illustrations, readers will be delighted by the school adventures pulled from Robinson’s hilarious experience attending Chicago’s first public magnet school!

Meet Abbie Wu. Abbie is in crisis—and not just because she’s starting middle school or because she’s stuck in a family that doesn’t quite get her or because everyone seems to have a Thing except her. Abbie Wu is always in crisis.

From debut author and professional doodler Booki Vivat, Frazzled dives right into the mind of this hilariously neurotic middle school girl as she tries to figure out who she is and where she belongs. Akin to Smile by Raina Telgemeier, Frazzled is heavily illustrated, embarrassingly honest, and sure to appeal to anyone in the middle of figuring out how to survive the everyday disasters of growing up.

"Honest, sweet, and laugh-out-loud funny," raves Brightly.com. "Fans of <em_font_element>Smile and <em_font_element>Diary of a Wimpy Kid will appreciate this debut."

little red reads review

Frazzled is about Abbie Wu, evil teachers, and middle school. When Abbie reaches middle school she is absolutely, guaranteed without a doubt 100% doomed (in her own words). The only thing she looks forward to is the so called “delicious lunch.” But on the first day of school she cant even look forward to that…oh and she seems to be the only without a “thing.”

With the help of her CRAZY aunt, her brother, and her friends will Abbie make it through middle school? Well let me tell you ……..just kidding you’ll have yo read it for yourself . I  loved this book.  I read it in one day.  I LOVED the illustrations on this book.- E, age 10
